Camera recommendations?
Posted: 31 May 07 8:54 PM Modified By scrappincass on 5/31/2007 8:59:37 PM)
I had a horrible thing happen last week! My digital camera went kapput (is there a correct spelling for that one?) on the night of my girls' ballet recital. Wow was I ever bummed! I did get few shots, but am so lacking...Anyway, I really don't think I can make it too much longer without a new camera, but am wanting to be sure I really get a good one. I've heard several guests talk about the Canon Digital Rebel and thought about that one. I love photography and want to try to take things to the next level by getting a camera with more ability to adjust things. I would love to hear what everyone recommends!

Thanks a billion!
Cassie

P.S. Deann, is there a way to find out what most of the show guests use without going back through to listen to each show? Are there a few standards a lot of people use? Thanks in advance for any advice!

wow - what a drag!!! i am so sorry to hear about your camera going 'kapput' there isn't an easy way to get the information from our guest...unfortuantely i don't have a list or anything like that. I can tell you that a lot of us shoot w/the Canon Digital Rebel and a lot use a Nikon - either the D20, D40, new D50, D70... let me ask around, and if i can get some info, i'll post it here. all i know is that YOU CAN'T GO WRONG w/either of those products. i did read a review and i think the hottest camera out there from functionality, price, quality is the brand new Nikon D40x - it's suppose to be AMAZING and I hear that Costco is carring it at a good price w/a decent 2nd lens...for what it's worth. xoxo,d

Deann,

Thanks so much for the info. I have heard from talking to people over the last few days that Canon and Nikon are really the way to go, and I think I'm going to take the plunge to SLR, although I'm a bit scared at this one! Anyway, keep up the good work on the shows! I won my subscription a few months ago on the Designer Digitals all day chat, and am now addicted. I sort of hoard the shows for my walking-I am training to do the Breast Cancer 3-day walk in October-and I'm almost totally caught up to what is online right now. I think I'm going get so sad when I finally catch up and have to wait a whole week for a new show to come out! By the way, I have little knowledge about downloading to my MP3 player, but this is one of the easiest places to download and go that I have worked with so far! Kuddos!

XOXO,
Cassie
